Sensory Spheres and Immersive Introspections
Acclaimed multimedia artist Diana Reichenbach (USA) specialises in communicating personal introspective moments of immersion, through time-based progressions of shifting colour, form, texture, and movement. Deviating from traditional filmmaking boundaries, Reichenbach explores the 360° canvas with fresh, new fulldome techniques. As both an innovative creator and dedicated educator, Reichenbach pushes the limits of immersive media while nurturing future generations of artists.
Stardancer’s Waltz (10min), a collaborative work set to Concerto for Violin, Rock Band, and String Orchestra (by REM’s Mike Mills and violinist Robert McDuffie), explores the relationship between light, sound, and space.
Recipient of a 2019 Janus-Fulldome Award, SONOLUMIN (5min) is an animated 360° film captured at two real-world locations. By using light and frame-by-frame long exposure photography to reveal aspects of each site, a new location - a hybrid of the two - emerges.
Infinite Horizons (2.5min), winner of the Best Use of Dome award at Fulldome UK 2014, is a flight through an abstract landscape challenging perceptions of the horizon.
0.1 (7.5min) is an immersive animated film exploring the evolution of human perception. As digital interactions become closely integrated with tangible reality, a hybrid environment is formed.
Inspired by train journeys in Italy, Tren Italia (4min) is a fulldome exploration of the experience of travel.
