Fund Your Visit
Apply for funding to help finance your Immersive Theatres visit
1. School Grants Scheme
by the Institute of Physics, the Science & Technology Facilities Council and the Institution of Engineering & Technology
Designed specifically for schools and colleges, you can apply for a maximum of £500 to run projects or events linked to the teaching / promotion of physics. Projects involving astronomy, space and particle physics are particularly encouraged. Therefore our 2-in-1 Performance with the UK-made immersive films We Are Astronomers and We Are Aliens, or the European Space Agency films Journey to a Billion Suns and From Earth to the Universe, would be eligible for funding.
2. Small Awards Scheme
by the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC)
Awards between £500 and £10,000 for school projects capitalising on the inspirational value of STFC science & technology areas such as astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, particle physics and space, solar & planetary science. Therefore our 2-in-1 Performance with the UK-made immersive films We Are Astronomers and We Are Aliens (both STFC financed) or solar physics films Sunstruck and Solar Quest or even the cosmology film DARK, would be eligible for funding.
3. Enrichment and Enhancement Grants Schemes
by The Royal Institution
Two annual grants of up to £500 are availble for UK state-funded schools to enjoy an activity from the STEM Directories (where we are listed as a provider). Therefore our 2-in-1 Performance with the UK-made 360° films We Are Astronomers and We Are Aliens or the STEM film Back to the Moon for Good, would be eligible for funding. Also, our immersive films Fractal Explorations and Fractals! are ideal to 'help integrate maths enrichment and enhancement activities into school practice'.
4. British Science Week Grants Scheme
by the British Science Association
Grants up to £300 are available for schools to run an activity during British Science Week (up to £200 for schools in Wales). A number of schools have successfully funded a visit by Immersive Theatres using this scheme in the past. Our 2-in-1 Performance with any one of a selection of over 100 immersive science films is an easy candidate for funding.
5. Scientific Outreach Grants
by the Biochemical Society
Grants up to £1,000 are available for engagement activities aiming to increase participation in the molecular biosciences at school level and beyond. 'Exciting activities' to inspire interest in the molecular sciences can include screening of our 360° immersive films Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, Cell! Cell! Cell! and The Body Code.
